United States : Atkins awarded HPTE On-Call Tolling Advisory Services

Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, has been reselected for a second consecutive five-year contract for on-call tolling advisory services for High Performance Transportation Enterprise (HTPE). A division of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), HTPE is responsible for pursuing innovative financing alternatives and delivering surface transportation infrastructure projects in Colorado. Contract scope includes advisory services for two existing and eight additional express lanes managed by HPTE.
Under the new contract, Atkins will provide the following services:
Program management
Tolling technology assessment and procurement
Tolling system integration procurement and oversight
Advice on various aspects of HPTEs Express Lanes Program, including multi-corridor tolling strategies
Express lanes operations support
Traffic and environmental studies oversight
Express lanes project procurement and delivery coordination
In the next three years HPTE will become one of the largest express lanes operators in the country, operating ten express lanes in Colorado, said Rami Harb, Project Manager, Atkins. Working with HPTE over the last five years, we look forward to continuing to serve as an extension of their staff, bringing best practices in growth management and operational scalability as they expand their express lane tolling operation in Colorado.
HPTE manages express lanes on Interstate 25 (I-25) in the Denver metro area, US 36, as well as the eastbound Mountain Express Lane on Interstate 70 (I-70). The eight new express lanes are in various stages of planning, design or construction and include westbound Mountain Express Lane on Interstate 70 (I-70), central I-70, I-25 Gap, I-25 North Segment 3, I-25 North Segments 7 and 8, I-25 North Segment 6, and C-470 Segments I and II. Atkins provides both public and private clients a broad range of comprehensive toll-related services including agency planning, project development, management services, and toll systems and operations.
